The Stark County Young Democrats are committed to engaging young people whether in high school, and newly entered into the workforce, throughout Stark County to experience Democratic Party political activism on a grass-roots level.
Membership is open to Stark County residents between the ages of 16 to 36. Membership is also available and encouraged in an honorary roll for members 37 years and up.

SCYD is the official youth arm of the Stark County Democratic Party. We strive to:

• Elect Democratic Candidates
• Encourage youth involvement in the Democratic Party
• Support the ideals of the Democratic Party at all levels of government
• Instill young people with the values for which the Democratic Party stands
• Provide young people with the skills and experience to lead our nation
  

Joining SCYD will present you with a unique opportunity to participate in the campaign and decision-making process. The Young Democrats serve as a valuable resource tool for our members by offering:

• Campaign Operative Training
• Organizing Materials
• Leadership Development
• County and State Party Activism Opportunities

Young Democrats receive first-hand experience in campaigns and elections, grassroots organizing, fund raising and candidate elective office, just to name a few. Many of the Democratic Party's leaders got their start in politics with the Young Democrats.
